Welcome to Emmanuel Baptist Church.

We believe that love and respect should govern the way we interact with one another. No matter where you come from, who you are, or how you identify yourself, there is a place for you here at Emmanuel.

This Season at Emmanuel…

The way of the Ancient Near East was to preserve history through oral tradition. People told and retold their stories and experiences so they could be remembered and passed down through generations. Eventually these tellings and retellings were written down. The stories that were passed down by the people of Israel and their descendants were put into a collection that we call the Old Testament.

This summer we are going to be looking at some of the stories and prayers that were passed down from generation to generation all the way to us.  Sometimes these stories are hard to make sense of, sometimes they paint ugly pictures, and sometimes they feel like a mirror we are staring into. As Luke Powery writes...The stories and lives of those in the past are not necessarily or always so different from our own. We hurt. We laugh. We cry. We dance. We get angry. We ask God questions. We have family problems. We go on journeys but are not quite sure of the destinations.

You're invited to come take a seat by the fire as we explore and retell these ancient stories and prayers.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am for our weekly community gathering. You can also watch the livestream of our service.
